DEFINITIONS
Set-up Fee
FREE set up fee on all new accounts.
Annually payments
This is your hosting service fee which is payable on
all web hosting accounts. Payment can be made
by credit card, cheque, money order, direct deposit or
internet banking.
Disk Storage
Disk space refers to the amount of server storage your
account is allocated. This space is used to store your
html files, graphics, sound files, film clips and all
other files that make up your web site.
Bandwidth/Data Transfer/Traffic
This is the amount traffic/visitors coming to your
site. For example, each time a html page loads or
image or any other element of your web page is
refreshed, data transfer is generated. Bandwidth
overage fees are as follows:
$25.00/GB for 'manual' adjustments. If you
'pre-purchase' extra bandwidth, you will be charged at
the following rates:
One (1) GB increments - $40.00 / 1 GB
Ten (10) GB increments - $200 / 10 GB
Twenty-five (25) GB increments - $400.00 / 25 GB
POP Email Accounts
These are unique email accounts, such as info@domainname.com
/ sales@domainname.com

Email aliases / email forwarding
Using email aliases or forwarders, you can receive
your emails at yourname@yourdomain.com, and
have them forwarded to another email account such as
yourname@aol.com or to another email address on your
domain such as anything@yourdomain.com.
Auto Responders
Auto responders are automatic email replies that you
can set up to be sent out automatically to customers
on receipt of an email, for example, if you receive
lots of emails each day, you might want to set up a
standard reply to let customers know that you are
dealing with their request. This will be only need to
be typed up once and the system will auto respond each
time a customer sends you an email.
Mail Manager
This is where you are able to create your own new pop3
email accounts, change passwords for your email
accounts, delete a pop3 account, forward email, and
create auto-responders, create mailing lists,
configure SpamGuard and Quaranteen.
Web Mail
WebMail which is a great feature if your away from
home or the office and want to check your email. Just
enter http://www.yourdomainname.com/webmail.
You will be presented with a login screen - use your
server login name and password, and you can use this
fully functional email service.
SpamGuard
Spam (junk email) wastes your time and money. Now you
can filter incoming emails based on email address or
words likely to be used in a spam message.
Quaranteen Manager
This will help to prevent emails with potentially
harmful attachments from reaching you computer. It can
be configured to filter out emails that include
attachments with any file extension. This is not a
personal computer product which can erase a virus, nor
is it intended to be a replacement for one. Quaranteen
resides on our server and can be a huge help to
prevent you from downloading viruses.
Mailing List
Managing a mailing list is easy through our control
panel. Your users can subscribe through your web site
and you can send the entire list an e-mail using one
e-mail address.
Form to Email
The pre-installed Form-to-Mail script takes the
contents of a form submission and emails you the
results to the address you specify.
Form to PGP mail
This utility is very similar to Form to Email, except
it uses your (Pretty Good Privacy) PGP key to encrypt
the message before sending it to you. Your PGP key is
installed through the control panel.

Control Panel
The control panel gives you better control over
your web hosting account. You can keep track of
you usage, access your web mail, upgrade your
plan, change your contact details, preview your
billing account, view your web site statistics and
more.....All at the click of a button.

Site Statistics
Our easy to use web-based site statistic software
allows you to track your hits, page views, most
popular pages and even which sites are sending
visitors to your site. This is an excellent marketing
tool.
N.B: ON ORDER
Page Counter
From the control panel you can create a counter that
records the amount of visitors to your web site. This
is a good feature for gauging the amount of traffic
you are receiving. If you wish, we can even set up a
counter which is transparent to your customers.
Search Engine
Allows you to install and manage the WebGlimpse Search
Engine which is a program that allows visitors to
perform searches on your site.

Secure Server (SSL)
Secure Socket Layers (SSL) allows you to encrypt
credit card numbers or other confidential documents so
that it is impossible to intercept during a
transmission. A security key will light up, usually in
the bottom right corner of the customer's browser,
which greatly increases customer trust when buying
from your site. This is installed for you upon
request.
Protected Directory / Password Protect Pages
The Protect Directory option allows you to restrict
access to a particular directory within your account
and allowing access by assigning user names and
passwords to individuals that you choose to allow such
access.
Anonymous ftp
Anonymous FTP allows you to provide a public directory
on your server. Anyone can upload or download files
through this directory using a web browser or FTP
client.
FTP
FTP "File Transfer Protocol" is the process by which
files are transferred to the web server. You have
unlimited access via FTP 24 hours a day. If you wish,
you can maintain your web pages on your own computer
and upload files to your web site yourself.
Telnet / SSH
SSH "Secure Shell" is a way of accessing our server to
execute commands, and to transfer files in a secure
manner. We have it set up to use RSA authentication.
We do not provide an SSH program for your use.
However, as a suggestion only, you can visit
http://www.vandyke.com and download their
SecureCRT software. This software is available as a 30
day trial and afterwards must be purchased. If you
wish to use SSH you must send us a photo ID requesting
this service.

File Manager
This will handle many of the functions that an FTP or
Telnet client will handle all within your browser.
Functions such as setting permissions, uploading files
from your hard drive, creating and editing html files,
or creating sub-directories. Its other function is to
allow you to view all of the files within your
directories and sub-directories by sorting them in
different orders.
URL Redirection
The redirect option allows you to redirect visitors to
your web site from another URL, or redirect visitors
from one page of your web site to another.
Real IP address
"Internet Protocol address" or "IP address." It is
similar to a telephone number or street address. The
IP address is personally identifiable information that
is automatically captured by another computer when any
communications link is made over the Internet.
Archive Manager
This option in your control panel allows you to
compress your directories and/or files located in your
account. This is an excellent way to backup your own
files. It will serve as double protection should
anything ever go wrong with our backups.

Frontpage Extensions
FrontPage Extensions can be installed simply by
clicking on the appropriate icon in your Control
Panel. We do NOT provide Technical Support for your
use of FrontPage software.
MySQL Database
MySQL is a database engine that you can use with your
web site.
Programming Languages
The following programming languages can run on your
site: Perl, C, Java, Python, PHP, and Java Applets.
CGI bin
This is where your CGI scripts are kept. CGI scripts
are used for things such as counters, forms that
retrieve and send data, guest books, forums, etc.
Customers have access to their own cgi-bin where you
may place your own custom CGI scripts. Our hosting
service doesn't include the writing or editing
scripts, but we do have programming staff that can
assist - we recommend you ask us for a quote.
MIME types
MIME Types "Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions"
helps your web server to identify what type of file is
being requested by your browsers. For instance, when
the web server gets a request from a browser such as
Internet Explorer or Netscape, for a file that ends in
.html, the web server knows that it is an html
document because that extension is stored in the Mime
Type.
Additional Domain Name Pointers
Additional domain name pointers can be set up to point
to your main domain name and therefore driving more
traffic to your web site. You cannot use domain name
pointers as individual web sites! A once off set up
fee of $ 20 per additional domain pointer applies.

The Submit Site to Search Engines option is a powerful
tool that allows you to quickly list your web site on
some of the most popular web search indexes.

We do not offer support for editing or configuring
scripts, web pages, FTP transfer of files, problems
that are the responsibility of your ISP, or anything
else that is not server specific.
